The U.S.S. Enterprise was launched on star date 41153.7. It became the Federation's flagship and was commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard . It can hold up to 1,012 life forms and had 42 decks. The Enterprise D had ten phaser banks and could carry maximum payload of 250 photon torpedoes. It also has a high capacity shield grid and around 4,000 power systems aboard.
An average day aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise included the celebration of the Hindu Festival of Lights, 2 personnel transfers, a school play, a birth, two chess tournaments, four birthdays and a wedding. This was according to Lieutenant Commander Data
The U.S.S. Enterprise D was destroyed by a warp breach in 2371. Klingons were responsible for the breach. Luckily the saucer section separated and "landed" on the planet Veridian III. Counselor Troi was at the Helm. Losses were minimal and much of the Enterprise's crew's belongings were salvable including Captain Picard's books.
